Let us introduce ourselves

Mildly Wild Herbs is the culmination of years of living among and learning about the natural world, the plants and their properties and our connection to it. Like many, we have realized that instead of turning to pharmaceuticals every time we feel unwell we can look to more natural solutions. For us, it starts with the herbal infusion…or tea! Hot or cold, herbal infusions can be medicinal, nutritive or just plain enjoyable. We either grow or source the best herbs available to us, and have found that the difference between that and those stale little tea bags we used to use is astounding. We are not medical professionals and make no claims except that sometimes a lovely cup of hot tea or soothing salve can just make you feel better.

Sourcing our ingredients

We are located in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, a unique ecosystem that is home to hundreds of species of plants and animals and sits atop of the largest aquifer in the state feeding all the glorious streams and ponds in our area. We grew up here, raised our children here and over the years as we have learned to garden and introduce plants not just for the table but for the apothecary the number of plant species we grow increases every year. However, we cannot grow everything we use simply due to our region. Our garden is mostly asleep in the winter. Our landscape is the forest and as stewards of the acres we own and loving the natural world surrounding us we take care of it the best we can by disturbing it as little as possible. We source a great deal of our plant ingredients from companies that work with farmers and foragers that produce organically and harvest ethically.
